Why mediation?
The goal is to attempt to preserve the relationship between the parties. Mediation allows each party to hear the opposing view in a safe environment. In most case Mediation is cost effective.
Mediation empowers the parties in a conflict and leave space of innovative resolution. Parties are still part of the decision making versus arbitration, the process is flexible and provides a wide range of outcomes.
I believe that conflict is inevitable but how you deal with it is not. Conflict is a natural part if relationship and ignoring it can be harmful. My approach is to assist you in a neutral way facilitating communication and guide the process of a positive understanding.
All this by identifying your common needs and interests and providing you an opportunity to collaboratively design creative solutions to repair the relationship.
My approach is authentic and genuine and nothing less.
I thank the Lkwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities - past, present, and future - for their stewardship, care, and leadership on these lands.
I acknowledge that I live and work on traditional & unceded territory.
What is Harmonium?
The harmonium, often associated with harmony, is a nuanced instrument requiring coordination, a musical ear, and, for many, years of practice. Similarly, human relationships can be straightforward for some and a challenge for others, demanding learning, adaptation, and various tools and techniques. Unfortunately, our culture often defaults to adversarial approaches over collaboration.
My mission is to reconnect people with the fundamentals of human connection through collaborative conflict resolution. As a mediator, I create a confidential and voluntary space where parties can navigate their challenges and move forward together. My role is not to dictate solutions but to guide and support individuals in finding their path toward resolution.
Community is at the heart of my work. I specialize in facilitating difficult conversations—whether within a strata community, between neighbors, or in organizational settings. By identifying shared interests and discovering common ground, I help people work toward meaningful resolutions.
In addition to mediation, I offer Basic and advanced Mediation skills training. Training can be customized to groups such as security officers, bylaw officers , and law enforcement or any organization having an interest in mediation skills.
